I've been a full-time artist for the past 17 years. I've had my ups and downs,the misfortune of coming across greedy,ruthless and selfish Art Dealers,although lucky enough to have found a real gentleman who besides buying all my production from 1992 to 1999,gave me the stimulus generalisation and I'm proud to the point of revealing I took the bait and began hard working as never before. Unfortunately many of my art work from 1992 to 1997 weren't published,so therefore somehow lost for the WorldWide public perception. From 1997 on I began publishing books of my work,sponsored by the Art Dealer I was working with by then. From 1997 to 2002 I over-produced,working ten hours a day,seven days a week. This non-stop working basis gave me the method and discipline not only by being a systematic creator but obviously delivered me the easy going power of invention and enthusiastic studio performance required in order to acomplish a serious unhesitating volume of Art pieces. By then I was living in Atlantic far-western Europe.between Vígo ( Spain ) and Oporto ( Portugal ). I had a studio at the slope of the mountain,surrounded by the woods and an outstanding view towards the Atlantic Ocean. 1 minute driving from Vila Nova de Cerveira,30 minutes driving from Vígo and roughly one hour from Oporto. It was a magical romantic period in wich I was fascinated by the Paris Art Golden Years and the twentieth century Great Masters were having a strong influence in my work. My second marriage in 2001 turned out to be a happiness miracle and a nightmarish disaster at the same time,crazy as it seems. I moved to Barcelona where I have a studio just off the wonderful Montjuic Park. That's when I began my internet experience,wich proved to be fascinating and frustating at the same time. Only by 2003 I became fully aware of the endless amount of artists around the world.So many,that today,2006,I still can't focus my attention on one single name.Mea culpa,mea culpa ! On the other hand that had a positive effect on my general perspective of the nowadays Art scene. On a short term I was ,shall we say, back down to earth and facing the harsh reality. Furthermore , it was about time for me to break up with the old influences and embrace the total contemporary Art expression. 2006 is a new start.And the new start I named it The NEW ERA.
